What: probe-vehicle travel time and speed data for the National Highway System, served through RITIS with congestion and reliability analytics (bottleneck ranking, trend charts, federal reliability measures). Why: fills the travel-time/speed gap none of the count sources cover — corridor studies, before/after evaluations, reliability reporting. When: operating-speed context for speed studies, congestion scans for existing conditions, before/after signal or lane-change evaluations.
Login required. Accounts are free for public agencies and for consultants working on an agency project — request via RITIS and name the agency/project #status/verify access terms. Coverage is NHS only; your local collector won’t be in here.
Warning
Probe speeds are segment averages from a sample, not spot speeds — don’t quote them as the 85th percentile for speed zoning. For that you still need a field study; see Speed Limits in Florida.
