What: the UF GeoPlan Center’s Florida Geographic Data Library — 600+ statewide GIS layers (transportation, land use, boundaries, environment) with the FGDL Explorer viewer and, critically, archived historical vintages of layers. Why: the historical archive is the differentiator — when a study needs what the network or land use looked like in a past year, this is where it still exists. When: comparable-site research (dating a treatment or land-use change), historical existing-conditions, layers you can’t find on the FDOT hub.

No login for downloads. Gotcha: layers are republished from source agencies — check the vintage in the metadata; the FGDL copy can lag the original by a cycle.

Tip

Pair a historical FGDL layer with dated aerials to bracket when a change happened — the core move in Workflow - Comparable Sites Research.
